Greg Picard was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. He always had an interest in action sports from the time his brothers taught him how to skateboard. Working in a snowboard shop allowed him to be involved in the sports he loved while helping pay his way through college. He graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Communication. After graduation he asked himself one question, "During my time here what did I enjoy most?" The answer was easy!
He decided to pursue another degree from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Phoenix, AZ with the high hope of getting a chance to make the action movies he once watched at the snowboard shop. Once graduated he moved to LA where he worked in a recording studio and a duplication facility in Burbank. After finding LA wasn't his style he followed the snow and tried Salt Lake City where he worked at two news stations. While in Salt Lake he had the chance to work at an audio post production studio with the very talented Michael McDonough.
Greg decided to try location audio once he realized the only conversations he was having all day were with his faders and speakers. After doing location audio for about 2 years his big break came when he was contacted by Freeride Entertainment who specializes in action sports. He then moved to Portland and had the chance to work on NBC's Grimm. He currently resides back home in Boise Idaho and continues traveling the globe working as a freelancer sound recordist. He has worked in Alaska, Argentina, The Arctic Circle, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hawaii "Jaws", Italy, Mt Saint Helens "Summited", Mt Kenya "Summited", Mt Kilimanjaro "Summited", Nepal, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, Tahiti, Tanzania, The Tatashini River, Vietnam & Zambia.
